Stained Glass Masquerade

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” (Matthew 23:27-28)

Just fell in love with this song “Stained Glass Masquerade” by Casting Crowns from a couple years ago. Those lyrics are devastating:

    Is there anyone that fails?
    Is there anyone that falls?
Am I the only one in church today feeling so small?
But would it set me free
If I dared to let you see
    The truth behind the person
That you imagine me to be
    Are we happy plastic people
    Under shiny plastic steeples
    With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain?

I saw two MVs for this song. Watching any of these videos with this song definitely enhances the impact of its lyrics…
