Recently the Starbucks Barista espresso machine broke down at our company. People have been relying on it to get their cup of coffee for the day, and they use it so much that they haven’t kept good care of it. So eventually it broke down.
A week later, our office manager came back with a replacement Barista machine. She sent an email to the company, asking us to shut down the power of the espresso machine if we’re not using it. Otherwise, hot water would be flowing through the machine all the time and this would shorten the machine’s life span.
This speaks to me as well. We cannot all be running on full steam all the time. Once in a while, it’s good to just shut down, take a rest, and then go again later. It’s a great reminder for me.
